Creative Suite 4 Deployment Best Practices
The best practices for Enterprise Deployment will focus installation and deployment of CS4. The Adobe® Pixel Bender™ technology delivers a common image and video processing infrastructure which provides automatic runtime optimization on heterogeneous hardware. You can use the Pixel Bender kernel language to implement image processing algorithms (filters or effects) in a hardware-independent manner. The Pixel Bender graph language is an XML-based language for combining individual pixel-processing operations (kernels) into more complex Pixel Bender filters. Advanced Integration with InDesign Server

In this session we’ll cover two separate integrations with InDesign Server. The
first examines the Distributed Copy Editor (DCE) reference implementation,
and the second talks about how you might approach a LiveCycle and InDesign
Server integration.
The Distributed Copy Editor is a reference implementation of a lightweight copy
editing application that can integrate with traditional InDesign / InCopy publishing
workflows using standard web-based protocols. We'll look under the hood of the
server-side web application which controls InDesign Server and the client-side Flex
/ AIR applications. The second part of this session looks at how InDesign Server
can be integrated with the LiveCycle family of products, including LiveCycle
Content Services ES, Digital Signatures ES, Forms ES, Output ES, Process Management
ES, and Reader Extensions ES.

Use the new, high-speed HostObject API to access the complete object model of a host application, without limitations on data or on performance; or, use ExtendScript to access the objects inside a SWF file. Create Flex-based UI and drive it from ExtendScript, or use the vast library of Flex classes to enhance your application, or provide extended functionality to your ExtendScript scripts.

This class will discuss the new functionality, explain extensions to existing functionality, and discuss how to write code and publish your PDF files to minimize (or even eliminate) the security warnings and maximize the number of JavaScript functions available to your documents. If you have ever run into a problem where the one function you need requires a "privileged context," but that function would break the document certification that provides the context, this session is for you.
